Look for the recurring note
One guest mentioning noisy air-conditioning is an anecdote; five mentioning it is a fact. Scan for the issues, and the praises, that come up again and again — the patterns are what to trust. Isolated complaints often say more about the guest than the villa.
Mind how the villa responds
Finally, read the owner's replies. A gracious, specific response to criticism signals a well-run property that cares; a defensive or absent one is a quiet warning. How a villa handles its imperfections tells you as much as the reviews themselves.
